GeekBuddy
GeekBuddy was launched in 2021 as a math app for students aged 12–16. It allows teachers to set tasks and students to complete them through games.
In 2024, inspired by the success of the Chinese app Xiaoyuan Kousuan, I redesigned Geek Buddy to be more interactive, competitive, and engaging, not just a task tool, but a fun way to
learn.
The redesigned Geek Buddy adds a competitive edge; students can now challenge peers in real-time maths games or tackle AI-driven solo challenges. The goal: to make maths more dynamic, fun, and confidence-boosting.

Hawk-eye Innovation- Umpire Clear-Cut
A software to log in-game information and share bounce marks of tennis matches. This project aimed to create an intuitive platform for logging and sharing tennis ball bounce locations, crucial data in a sport where in/out calls can shape careers and audience trust. Despite the stakes, quick and reliable verification tools are lacking.

Visual Direction
The visual identity draws heavily from the world of tennis:
Navy blue was chosen as the primary brand colour, reflecting the official uniforms worn by umpires.
Accents of green reference the traditional tones of tennis courts, providing familiarity and relevance to the sport.
The curved detailing in the subtext of the log, “Umpire Clear Cut”, was inspired by the arc of a spinning tennis ball, adding motion and subtle personality to the branding.

User-Centred Approach
To ensure clarity and effectiveness, I created personas representing typical umpire profiles, and tested the prototype with both tennis enthusiasts and users unfamiliar with the sport. This helped validate the simplicity of the app's user journey across different levels of expertise.
One key insight that drove the experience design was the intense pressure umpires face during close calls, where decisions must be made within minutes. My focus was on relieving that stress through a calm, supportive, and efficient interface, creating a tool that not only performs its technical role but also respects and empathises with the user.
Ultimately, Empire Clear Cut is about precision made simple, supporting better decision-making in sports through thoughtful, user-first design.
